A Sex Abuse Suit Filed in Hartford Names a Bishop and a Diocese

Clergy sex abuse is a crime. The sexual abuse of two boys, who were altar servers for St. Anthony's Parish in East Falmouth, by a Fall River Bishop and Diocese began when the boys were nine and 10 years old and continued until they reached the age of 17. U.S. Department of Education Releases List of Higher Education Institutions with Open Title IX Sexual Violence Investigations

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) published a list of the higher education institutions under investigation for possible violations of federal law over the management of sexual violence and harassment complaints. In the Obama Administration's drive to end sexual violence – particularly at the university level – the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault aims to increase the transparency of the government's initiatives on this front.

Among the 55 colleges under investigation is the University of Connecticut. Read more from the U.S. Department of Education.
